February 3 & 4, 2017 — North Central Florida

The day is glum and gloomy, as am I. Yesterday was better but not outstanding in any way. The air regressed to chilly and both days were the opposite of the enchanting spring weather from earlier in the week. As badly as we need rain, the clouds tease but produce none.

Work dominates my hours; still struggling with multiple deadlines. One day melts into another with no distinction. Home life is in disarray; no time to give attention to the needs and wants unrelated to work. And, that is sad. Work-life balance does not exist this time of year. I reflect on all the Januarys and Februarys for the past 34 years, and there is little I remember but hours and hours of work. The memories are as gray and indistinct as this day.
