Hi, I’m Nick.

Nick, I thoroughly enjoyed your introduction. I didn’t write an introduction when I joined Medium but have read a few others and think it is a very open and honest way to connect with the community here.

I know you are in NJ because of the lake you mentioned. My husband, who immigrated from Argentina in 1969, spent most of his time in the U.S. in New Jersey. On a trip to visit his daughter in Florida he met me and now he is stuck here :) He has family in NJ and Manhattan and we try to visit every fall.

For years, we stayed with his mother in Elizabeth and took the train to Manhattan every morning, returning in the evenings to have dinner with her. She moved to South Florida in 2015 and then passed in 2016 at the age of 95. Now we stay with one of his daughters and her husband, but still take the train to Manhattan every morning. I believe it is impossible to tire of Manhattan and all it has to offer. I can walk the streets and stroll the parks for hours every day and never be bored.

I too suffered on and off from depression during my life. I still have a difficult time admitting that. I appreciate your honesty and openness about your experience with anxiety and depression.

Best of luck with your new job. I look forward to reading more from you.
