Unfortunately, Satti, she would not be open to hearing anything negative about Israel, as I am sure you can guess. I had a former client who gave up his law practice to work for an international social justice organization, and he lived and worked with the Palestinians for many months. His experiences were a shocking picture of the Palestinian plight. I tried to have an open conversation with her about what he saw and experienced but she would have none of it. I wasn’t taking sides, just wanted an exchange about the situation there with a supporter of Israel and someone who has visited the region several times. Nope, she wasn’t willing to discuss it at all. A little surprising to me since she is usually quite open to a good discussion about any world or national problem. Tragically, many Israel supporters are closed to any suggestions that Israel could be wrong or even partially wrong when it comes to the Palestinians.
Thanks for reading and I greatly appreciate your comment.
