I believe that categorizing oneself or others according to pigmentation or ethnicity is like categorizing people according to their favorite ice cream flavor.
One the one hand: Yes, somehow it is an “ontologically real” category. But on the other: It tells you nothing about this person — except, well, that they are of pigmentation X / like best ice cream flavor Y.
And I really wouldn’t consider myself “hyper-rational”. Quite the opposite. I feel emotions towards everyone.
