“Hang on a minute lads. I’ve got a great idea!”

Welcome to Part 2 of my “Google Cloud Adoption for the Enterprise” series. Having established your strategy, you’ll need significant investment. And for that, you’re going to need a business case.

In this part, I’m going to cover the following topics:

  1. What Constitutes a Business Case?
  2. Getting ChatGPT to Lend a Hand!
  3. Adding Quantification and Specificity

What Constitutes a Business Case?

The business case is a document that will help you to secure senior buy-in and funding. It describes how achieving these objectives will move you towards your strategic goals. And consequently, it should follow your strategy definition, not the other way around!

Here’s a quick summary of some the key information that should be captured in any business case:

  • What are we going to do?
  • What problems is it going to solve?
  • How will it help us achieve our strategy?
  • What is our expected return on investment (ROI)?
  • What other benefits?
