…and Steve picks up a bug

Belfast has a fun and informative tour of the city

We’d checked out the HopOn, HopOff tours of downtown Belfast, and decided today to take the tour. The guide was hilarious, cracking jokes and keeping everyone entertained throughout the excursion.

Read where the adventure started:

With the HopOn, HopOff, there’s an itinerary with signs at various locations around town. The double-decker bus (the top seating is open to the air) makes stops at selected sites, and if you’d like to get off and explore, you are free to do so at any time. Then, just wait at a designated spot and the buses return every 30 minutes or so. You can get back on by showing your pass.

We took a complete tour, and decided to get some lunch before getting back on the tour bus once more to head over to the Titanic museum.

This is where the trip got derailed just slightly. Steve had picked up a bug and I could tell he wasn’t feeling well. We ended up taking an Uber back from the Titanic museum to the bnb.

Steve took some over the counter medicine and rested.

Day 13

Sunday we spent at the bnb. Steve was still under the weather, so today was spent tidying, reading and watching television. Oh, and visiting this room:

I figured out how to order food online from a local restaurant, The Lava House, using Deliveroo food service (kind of like Uber Eats), and in about 45 minutes, we had Lasagna, a cream soup of the day, and an order of Carbonara delivered straight to the door.

This food order came to £28.11, so I’m guessing the delivery guy (on bicycle) was surprised when I handed him a £10 tip.

Steve didn’t eat much and stayed on the sofa dozing on and off while the television kept him company in the background. We’ll be leaving Belfast in the morning, so I hope he’s feeling better.
