Good retort Joel, and probably the most direct way to respond to someone who takes issue with something that they “choose” to read. One of the most important things about writing good pieces is writing for yourself first, and then writing as if no one will read it. This allows you to write unfiltered and from a raw perspective that is based on your own collective experiences. Anyone that sees that as a “woe-is-me approach” or some type of victimization will never get it anyway.
