Parenting Or Coaching?

My Dad was the varsity basketball coach for our local high school, and from as far back as I can remember, I was the ball boy. My Dad never really “switched gears” from ‘coach to parent’, so I joke that I was “coached” never “parented” and I am so very grateful for that. Being coach-able creates a desire to learn from your mistakes as you prepare for your next game — one of the greatest gifts, in my opinion.
