One area I don’t totally agree. Technical ability needs to be good enough to earn Engineering respect and to have enough of a radar to call bullshit. Similarly, it needs to be good enough to help with prioritization decisions on what problem to solve next — otherwise you’ll go slower.

But I do agree on the scale of needs it is often over-valued.
