Well said.

Unfortunately, I’m also guilty and occasionally fall into the same traps. Sometimes, a lot of what I write can and should be kept to myself, but I still decide to share my thoughts with my community so I can see what others think.

In today’s world, which revolves around instant gratification and the need for self-validation, we want others to read what we write so we feel better about ourselves. I’ve tried to combine the best of both worlds by sharing what I write with others while also writing for the sake of enjoyment and self.

I remind myself that the number of followers I have, the number of claps or likes I get on a post, or the amount of engagement I get is not indicative of the value of my posts or how much my writing matters to me. At the end of the day, I write for myself.
