Store’s sometimes use UPC’s model number fields. Fixing this problem can be a daunting task for any store, let alone a store such as Newegg with 2.6 million model numbers that contain UPC’s. A single store does normally does not have the resources to fix this type of problem automatically.

Fixing this problem requires automation that even the biggest Internet and ecommerce companies do not have. How do I know? I have talk to them. In fact determining what are the wrong values at a site and what the correct values for bad and missing data at a site has been a bridge too far most companies, until now. Data Record Science has the technology to identify bad and missing data at stores and make suggestions to fix the bad and missing data.

Below we can see that the model number in the first record in the page contains a UPC.

In the lower left corner the number of records found with suggested values for this field is shown.

Clicking on the number of records brings up a window which shows the user the suggested replacement values.
