I am often struggling to understand why jQuery became such a black eye in the web community as of late. Yes, there is some more coding required to achieve certain results, at the end it really all boiled down to one single dependency. As opposed to my Gulp file which is seriously more complex and time consuming than some of the web projects I am spitting out. Not to mention all of the amazing plugins that are still out there for jQuery that still only required at worst two dependencies and maybe a style sheet.

I shake my head in disbelief at anyone who tries to convince me that React / Redux / JSX / Babel is a great development experience.
