I too often feel like I should simply check out and leave all news behind. But democracy requires an informed electorate, and this always takes me back to the news. Rather than drop all sources completely, I’ve gone back to traditional sources: ones that have real journalists, engage in fact-checking, pursue balance and journalistic integrity and appear to aim to inform rather than outrage.
