Reduced Guide for Cosmos Delegators

There are already many guides for delegators. This intends to be a quick and very sesgated advice set for you to consider:

  • Avoid delegating to 0% Commission validators. They hurt the network. The community already agree several times including a governance proposal.
  • Avoid delegating very powerful validators. If you care about power centralization you would better delegate to mid table validators.
  • Avoid delegating to Spammers. If you see a validator continuously advertising himself on each and every chat you’d better avoid that validator. Good validators do not need to flood chats with their noise and memes in a daily basis, nor pretend to be continuously helping just to make noise neither.
  • Pay attention to Community Open Source contribution. This is just an example regarding block explorers:

BigDipper from Forbole: Open source
Stargarzer from Certus: Not open
Mintscan from Cosmostation: Not open

Finally the most important:

  • Spread your Stake over different validators. 3–5 Validators is better than 2–3. All your stake in one single validator is not a smart desicion. It also denotes you are not really aware of the risks of delegating. In that case, take your time. No need to hurry.

Stay tuned!
