The story of Deriv begins in 1999. Regent Markets Group, the founding company, was founded with the mission of making online trading accessible to the masses. The group has rebranded and grown, but the goal since its inception has remained the same.

Regent Markets is launched
A young entrepreneur collaborates with financial mathematicians to develop algorithms for the world’s first fixed odds trading system for retail investors.
Regent Markets Group was born, sponsored by Regent Pacific Group Ltd., a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Regent Markets opens its first office in Malta. The first binary trade is executed.
Regent Markets launches BetOnMarkets.com, the first platform to offer binary options to retail traders.
Regent Markets established a second office, a technology park in Cyberjaya, the Silicon Valley region of Malaysia.
The service is recognized as a reliable and secure online trading platform for all experience levels of traders. BetOnMarkets.com won the ‘Best Fixed Rate Financial Trading Provider’ award from Shares Magazine UK in 2007 and 2008.
The company also won an Investor award for ‘Best Client Media Company’, a recognition for the platform’s ethics and customer-focused trading experience.
BetOnMarkets is changed to Binary.com. The rebranding also comes with improved features, the introduction of a wide range of new trading types, and a diversification of charting applications.
The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) grants Binary.com a Category 3 Investment Services license. This license allows Binary.com to provide investment services to clients in the European Union.
