Trip 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to zagora desert

The Zagora Desert is drier and has less dunes than Merzouga. The main advantage of Zagora is that it is located closer to Marrakech, one night in the desert!

If, you’d like to spend less days in the Sahara Desert, the best option is Zagora and also the only possible place to spend a night in a Berber tent in the desert so close to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech — Atlas-Ait Ben Haddou — Ouarzazate — Agdez — Drâa Valley– Zagora

Departure from Marrakech at 7H00 to the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka 2260m altitude through the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou; Visit the Kasbah (lunch on site).

Afternoon excursion to Ouarzazate for continuing to Zagora through the Atlas, the Berber village of Agdez and Draa Valley with its palm procession.

Arrival in Zagora, exchange minibus against dromedaries to admire the sunset and spend the night in the tent.

Dinner and overnight camping in tents.

Day 2: Zagora — Drâa Valley– Agdez — Ouarzazate — Tizi-N-Ticha — Marrakech

Wake up early to watch the sunrise, camel back to Zagora to join the 4 × 4. Then departure to Ouarzazate via the Draa Valley and Agdez (lunch on the road).

Return to Marrakech in the afternoon.
