When I was in my teens and 20s, I was a voracious reader of romance novels. Nowadays, I don’t bother because most of them are really more like pornography for women. At any rate, I did know of men who read the Harlequin style Romance books. When I was a military wife, I can remember my (former) husband writing to me to ask if I’d send romance books to Japan. I was like what? Apparently, a lot of the guys read them on the ships. So I packed up 300 or so and sent them off. If you ask me, I think the guys were reading to get pick up lines to use on the women at the various ports they went to lol
