Lithuania to benefit from DESICO’s contribution to global fintech and blockchain communities
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania believes that Lithuania will benefit from DESICO’s contribution to the global fintech and blockchain communities.
A press release published by the ministry read, “DESICO is [also] expected to foster Lithuania’s fintech and blockchain communities by promoting the settlement of global blockchain and fintech businesses in Lithuania.”
Lithuania’s Minister of Finance, Mr. Vilius Šapoka, added that DESICO’s position as the world’s first platform to issue, buy, and sell security tokens with the law gives Lithuania an advantage in reaching its future target of becoming a fintech leader in the Baltic-Nordic region.
“Lithuania needs a transparent and regulated crowdfunding platform in order for it to fulfil its plan of becoming a future fintech leader of the Baltic-Nordic region,” he said. “Lithuania already has an exceptional regulatory advantage. It is the first European Union member state to already legally regulate ICOs, and have a Law on Crowdfunding. Meanwhile, other EU countries, as well as the United States, Canada, and China are only just changing their legislation to legally regulate ICOs.”
