Choose LOVE

The process we preach

Attention. Sometimes it might be multiple ideas at once, sometimes it is just the conversation going on next to me, and regardless I struggle to land on a source; am I observant, curious, and intellectual or do I have an issue I need to deal with? To gain insight into this question I researched what modern scientists, who only believe in what no one else can disprove, call Autism and Attention Deficit Disorder.

When I can not comprehend a large project, I research its parts and I research others who have done the same thing, or a related project, before me for insight. Once I have some insights I try them out myself; if they work, I implement them, if not, I do not. When my niece is not sure how to play a game that she wants to play, she asks me or her mom. We convey to her the parts, rules, conventions, give her some advice and tips, and then we try to play. If my niece likes the game we get to play it and all of our explanation was not for nothing, if she does not like the game, then we do not get to play. Realize that the research I did to explore my thoughts about my own attention began with scientific keywords, not a disease or disorder I have.

Focus. Sometimes I have a crazy hyper focus that I can not explain and that I absolutely love. In addition, I also possess the capability to support massive amounts of sensory input. Always the optimist, I begin with the positive. On the flip side, I can focus so much that I forget worldly conventions and I can get so overloaded with input that it all becomes fleeting, thus making it hard to retain anything. Do I have an issue? Did Einstein have an issue? Did Lincoln have an issue?

Emotions. Chemical abnormalities. Genetic properties. Whatever the classification may be, there are parts, rules, and conventions to me. Though as humans they are continually changing, morphing, developing, and growing; there are always tips and advice we can gain from research and from others who have gone through similar things. Seek out and explore; use whatever keyword you need to; query the world however it makes sense to; the attention and focus are just methods, where you place your attention and focus is ultimately the primary goal. Choose what will make you happen now and on your death bed; choose what grounds you and gives you wings; choose to surround yourself with the ones who you love, and choose to love those who surround you; choose love.
