A “naksha” typically refers to a layout or blueprint of a building, and Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian architectural science that provides guidelines for designing and constructing buildings in harmony with natural forces. When creating a “naksha” based on Vastu Shastra, here are some key considerations:

naksha

1. Orientation:

Align the main entrance of the house with the cardinal directions (north, east, or northeast is considered auspicious).

Ensure that the plot faces one of the cardinal directions for optimal energy flow.

2. Entrance:

Place the main entrance in a positive direction (north, east, or northeast) and make it welcoming.

Avoid placing the entrance in the southwest direction.

3. Room Placement:

Bedrooms are often recommended in the southwest or northwest corners of the house.

Living rooms can be in the northeast or north.

Kitchen is ideally placed in the southeast.

Pooja room or meditation space is best situated in the northeast.

4. Shape of the Building:

Rectangular or square-shaped buildings are considered auspicious.

Avoid irregular or L-shaped designs.

5. Windows and Ventilation:

Ensure proper placement of windows for good ventilation, with more openings in the north and east.

Balconies or open spaces are beneficial in the north or east.

6. Height and Slope:

The southwest part of the house should be higher than the northeast.

The slope of the roof should be from southwest to northeast.

7. Colors:

Use light colors for the walls, especially in the north and east.

Avoid dark colors in the northeast.

8. Panchtattva (Five Elements):

Incorporate the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space) into the design.

Ensure a balance of these elements in different sections of the house.

9. Staircase:

If your house has multiple floors, place the staircase in the south or west direction.

Avoid the center or northeast for the staircase.

10. Puja Room:

Create a dedicated space for a pooja room in the northeast, and ensure it is kept clean and sacred.

It’s essential to note that Vastu guidelines can vary, and there may be regional or personal variations. Consulting with a Vastu expert or architect familiar with Vastu principles is recommended to create a naksha that aligns with your specific needs and the unique characteristics of your plot.
