Back in 1975, Microsoft’s founders, Bill Gates and Paul Allen, created the very first logo for their company. With its disco-inspired look, rounded edges, and concentric lines, the logo exuded a sense of fun and energy. The stylized “O” with a diagonal line conveyed motion and speed, emphasizing the “soft” aspect of the company name. This playful logo lasted for five years until it was replaced with a more professional design in 1980.

The Second Microsoft Logo: 1980–1982

In 1980, Microsoft revealed its second logo, featuring a more geometric and futuristic design. This logo, adorned with a custom font called New Zelek, took on a metallic and glossy appearance, reflecting the company’s focus on hardware and technology. The “O” remained slashed, but in a more subtle manner that blended it seamlessly with the rest of the letters. The Third Microsoft Logo: 1982–1987
