In 1971, the remarkable journey of Starbucks started with a little store, located inside pike place market, in Seattle. The city of Seattle is well known as the coffee capital of the US, and definitely, acts as the main character in Seattle’s coffee scene.
And obviously, one of the big Starbucks Reserve is located in downtown Seattle. Based on its mission, this store inspires people who visit there and further encourages communities and nearby neighborhoods with coffee.
What is the special point of the space?
Starbucks Reserved Seattle is different from a normal café. If you expect to relax with a coffee or plan some quiet time there, this wouldn’t be a spot for that. Rather than a cozy feeling, this store felt like a market instead.
They intentionally designed this space with several cool attractions to offer things to see. The Special beverages and foods are well prepared to offer things to eat. Also, captivate merchandise is displayed neatly to offer things to buy. Then, all those things are united with Starbucks’ brand identity.
How do they apply their brand values to space design?
#1_ Creating a cultural warmth and belonging
The overall tone and manner of the space are very warm, by using brown tone materials. With those kinds of materials, they used copper and several other metallic mediums to bring a modern feeling into the space.
The rich amount of sunlight that comes through the large windows also leverages the level of coziness.
Additionally, it is interesting to find small decorative elements, motivated by the sparkling features of the STAR. Those details even make the space brighter and more splendid.
#2_Being PRESENT, connecting with TRANSPARENCY, dignity, and respect
The biggest difference between Starbucks Reserve Roastery, compared to and general stores is the existence of a factory. In the middle of the store, a giant coffee roaster machine roasts coffee beans lively and they show us every process of how they create a package of coffee.
In this area, Starbucks not only offers things to see but also conveys transparency of its products to the customers.
