IS 555 Usability Engineering
New: ARTD 317 UI/UX Design for Non-Majors
This User interface/User experience (UI/UX) studio introduces the non-designer to the construction of compelling user experiences that incorporate the use of digital products/code. Students investigate both the theoretical and practical aspects of UI/UX through projects involving information architecture, user scenarios, wireframing, interface design, and creative code for web and mobile products. Additional fees may apply. See Class Schedule. Prerequisite: ART 215 or ARTD 217.
New: BADM 395 Senior Research II: Interaction Design
The course provides hands-on introduction to Design Thinking and the principles of Interaction Design, which not only involves designing technological solutions, but the interaction between technology and people who use them. Human centered design framework that focuses on developing deep understanding for people, technology, and society will be used. Students will be introduced to the 4 stages of user interface design cycle as they design mobile information systems during the semester. They will learn design methodologies rooted in Human Computer Interaction literature such as journey mapping, sketching, storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping etc to design a solution that delights the users. No coding experience required. Restriction(s)Restricted to Information Sys & Info Tech or Information Systems major(s) or minor(s). Restricted to students with Junior or Senior class standing.
