There is an illusion, perhaps stemming from movies or the media, that creativity is an instant flash, an overnight miracle. Producers don’t feature the thousands of failed attempts at creativity (or if they do, it’s quick and romanticized) because that’s boring and it won’t sell. The concept of ‘rolling the dice as many times as possible’ is helpful because it removes any personal judgment and acknowledges the chance element in creativity.
