Sierra Leone: SLFA Notifies Members about Extra-Ordinary Congress

The Sierra Leone Football Association on Monday January 16 has informed it members of the Football family that base on the outcome of the meeting held at the Ministry of Sports between the SLFA Executive member and stakeholders that an extra- ordinary congress will hold in February

In the press release issued by the General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association Chris Kamara said that a tentative date has been agreed for the 11th February 2017 were applicable. He said however, the venue shall be communicated after the Executive Committee of SLFA meeting today Wednesday 18th January 2017 at the Kingtom Secretariat.

He further encouraged members to ensure that they comply with their statutory obligation as stipulated in art, 13, par. (1a to 1i), of the SLFA Statutes.

Speaking to some of the football aggrieved stakeholders in relations to the present situation concerning peace within the football family they said that they themselves are ready to make peace in order to see football back at its best in the country.

They however stated that football most plays everywhere in the country and so they are welcoming the idea of playing football back after several years without constructive premier league in the country.

You all could recall that the Minister of sports is strongly behind this as a way of bringing everybody back together as part of his reconciliatory moves in the football family.

With the starting of the league again that will help in building of our peroration ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

In conclusions they said that now is the time for the Sierra Leone Football Association and the Ministry of Sports to look into selecting rightful coaches who can give us earl preparation by looking at players that are plying their tread outside the country alongside the coming of the Sierra Leone Premier League.
