There are lots of ways to express art but it still in us how we will appreciate it because we have different perspective. I really appreciate art. I love art and going to an art gallery such as the National Museum is a great experience for me.
It is my first time to visit the National Museum. I noticed that the National Museum was not visited only by Filipinos but also some foreigners and I can see that they were really amazed by the artworks. Goibg to the National Museum gave me a chance to see lots of amazing artworks by different artists like Juan Luna, Guillermo Tolentino, and Vicente Manansala. As we enter the museum, the first painting we saw was one of Juan Luna Y Novicio’s artwork, the “Spoliarium” which for me, depicts sadness and cruelty. We wandered inside the museum and saw other artworks which caught our eyes. Looking at the paintings refreshed my mind but also makes me think of the message the artists want to convey. They are full of message. Happiness, sadness, sorrow, love, and different emotions can be seen through the paintings. They convey different scenarios. Some depicts the culture and characteristics of Filipinos. I saw the life of Filipinos before and how it is far from today’s generation although there are some cultures that are still present today. I also got surprised to see some of the artworks which we have discussed in our Aesthet subject. The paintings gave me knowledge and makes me realized that there are still lots of things in our surroundings that we still have to see. Perhaps, it is true that the world is small but for me, arts can make the world big. We just need to open our eyes to see more beautiful things in our surroundings.
I had such a great time visiting the museum. Those artworks prove that the Filipinos are very talented and are really can be proud of. The paintings served not only to entertain but also help me to understand more the value and beauty of art.
