Yes, it was September 2011. Which, to give you some frame of reference, meant Intercom was 2 months old :) So I didn’t really have an answer for who owns in-app message schedules as we had just invented them :)
It’s a great question. Who does or who should own the schedule. I’ve talked to dozens of companies and the only universal truth seems to be that it goes to the most “able” team, or occasionally, the most vocal. A typical holistic schedule includes lead nurturing, product education, product engagement, feedback, and much more. And that’s before you include a sales org as well!
