It’s all about YOU, approach to kitchen and bath design.
When I meet a new client I get very excited to hear all about them, their family and the love/hate relationship they have with their current living space. Getting to know what is important to my clients allows me to create custom solutions that will not only add value to their home but make their day-to-day living more efficient.
Most clients have a really good idea of things they don’t like. Figuring out the “likes” is a little more challenging but that’s where the fun begins. I ask questions about cooking styles, shopping habits, entertaining frequency, number of “helpers”, how many small appliances do you own, just for starters. Personal stories all help fill in the gaps as I begin to get a sense of what type of space will suit my client.
Designing personal spaces (kitchens and bathrooms) requires an awareness for detail and discretion. Understanding that perhaps your client likes to shower or bathe with their partner is an important element to creating the ‘perfect master ensuite’ yet requires the delicate balance of privacy. The biggest element here is “listening” to what the client is saying (and sometimes not saying) that personalizes the design.
Taking all the ideas and information gathered from the first meeting starts the process. From there an initial design/layout is created. Feedback is a two-way street where I offer my expertise and advice and blend in the elements my client is looking for. Ultimately, we create the perfect space.
It is the personal interaction with incredible people that fuels my passion for this industry. But it isn’t just about “fluff”. I deal with the ‘guts’ of your home in great detail. Every mechanical system in your home is potentially effected during a kitchen or bathroom renovation. Knowledge and expertise with plumbing/electrical/venting/structural systems are critical to creating safe, functional and re-saleable homes. Protecting your investment while maximizing the function and form of your space is our specialty.
