What All The Harassment Stories In Astronomy Really Mean

Leave it to the astronomers to take human life seriously — seems like the bigger the perspective, the more grounded in the details right in front of us, and astronomers put themselves in a framework where they can create for themselves horizon-less minds (made-up word, but you get me). Horizons are just boundaries — walls between men and women, between gay and straight, black and white. Crazy, small-mind stuff that a brief glimpse at pictures of the galaxies should immediately alert us as to exactly how inconsequential such boundaries are. Thanks again Ethan, for another Big Picture piece. Peace.
