One decent and one not so, board exam later I found myself studying engineering (or trying to) at Manipal, one of the coolest and forward thinking environments any campus India could have or so I thought. Some of it was attributed to the large sections of students coming in from different countries and the exposure helped with the evolution. I remember the late night bunking of hostel timings in my first year trying to go score a drink without the seniors finding out. But wait, my memory serves me again.. us boys could be out of the hostel late night unlike the girls who had a return time of 9pm. Well it was necessary that the girls remained safe right? After all now they were women now and had to be cultured (Isn’t that what it was about?)! Ofcourse men could never be uncultured and rowdy, come on man.. don’t tell me you thought of us like that!
True. When people think of economists, they picture smart people crunching numbers. When they think of psychology, they picture Sigmund Freud lying on a couch telling them they failed a driving test because they failed to kill their fathers and sleep with their mothers. (If you object to that, don’t worry; you’re in denial.)
