We are proud to announce in 2019 we are rolling out our Diversity Scholarship programme for DevConf.
If it doesn’t apply to you, please share this link with anyone who might make use of the scholarship.
What are the scholarships
Our Diversity Scholarships are our way to ensure DevConf drives inclusion of participants from groups that are under-represented group in tech. This includes (but is not limited to): people of colour, LGBTQIA+ people, women and disabled people.
Our Diversity Scholarship includes a ticket to the day DevConf event, covering also the cost of travel to Kraków, Poland (from your city) and accommodation as required.
How to apply
Please fill the survey available here. You don’t have to explain your personal situation (but you can of course, if you want to). We trust you :)
Please note that the results of the survey will be treated with utmost privacy, and we will not publicly announce who the diversity scholarships go to (though you’re welcome to say so yourself).
Please keep in mind we have a limited number of scholarships available.
The deadline for applications is Friday, 2nd of August 2019.
We try to create a diverse and inclusive conference at DevConf. One of the ways to achieve it is this programme.
Participation in a tech conference can be a life-changing event. We would like to encourage a wide variety of people to participate to help boost careers, create opportunities and exchange knowledge.
A conversation we had with Jesse McCulloch from Microsoft this year made us question if we are doing enough to recognise people from under-represented groups in our industry. There are awesome companies willing to cover travel & accommodation for their speakers in order to allow more people with diverse background to participate in the conference. This enables us to optimise our budget to allow more funds to be explicitly directed towards a thing we strongly believe in — diversity & inclusion.
We don’t want just to be welcoming, we want to ensure that the under-represented groups are fully recognised at DevConf.
