Andela’s vision is to train 100,000 world-class developers within the next 10 years

The Andela Bootcamp is a two-week long program where aspiring Andela fellows who have gone through the homestudy test and interview process are assessed by their ability to learn in a fast paced environment. This post is about the challenges I’ve faced so far in the Andela Bootcamp LOS/24 and how I have been able to adapt to them.

The Andela Bootcamp has been a whole new experience for me. One of major criteria for surviving thus far has been quick adaptation to the fast paced environment in the Bootcamp. I have had to work with Node.js, Express.js, Sequelize, PostgreSQL and other technologies which are all new to me.

I have been able to adapt to these new technologies by approaching them with an open and growth mindset. I resorted to reading several tutorials online that helped me understand the underlying concepts of these new technologies and they have helped me with my project.

I have also leveraged my environment to help me adapt to changes during the Bootcamp by seeking support from the BFAs (Bootcamp Facilitator Assistants) whenever I encounter a task beyond my level and by also helping my peers which has helped me get a better understanding of these new technologies.

The Andela Bootcamp has changed my orientation with respect to learning new things. Adapting to changes during Bootcamp has helped me and for that I am grateful.

Thanks for reading.
