When it comes to printing labels, nothing matches the quality and durability of the labels generated from thermal printers. There are a variety of thermal printers available that can range from low cost to high cost. But, one of the most used thermal printers are the Zebra thermal printers. They are cheap to buy and are cheaper to maintain as well. Moreover, if you are a WooCommerce store owner and want to print FedEx shipping labels using one of the Zebra printers, then you should go for the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin.

By using this plugin you can print the FedEx shipping labels in various sizes. Furthermore, you can even choose the ZPLII and EPL2 formats that are supported by the Zebra printers.

Let us take an example of one of our customers and see how this plugin can help her.

Kat: We would like to check if the label printing feature of your plugin works with FedEx label printer (zebra). Could you help confirm this as it is a very important factor that decides if we could use your plugin for our client’s website or not?

Before getting into details, you should know that the EPL2 is the older version of ZPLII. Meaning, the Zebra printers can print both EPL2 and the ZPLII formats. Here, EPL is the short form of Eltron Programming Language and ZPL is of Zebra Programming Language.

Note: The ZPL/EPL format is best supported by the label size of 4 x 6 inches. This results in better label design and clarity in the barcodes on the label.

Now, in order to activate the ZPLII/EPL2 formats in your plugin, you would have to go to the FedEx settings page in the WooCommerce shipping. You can refer the following image to the same.

Here, in the drop-down menus, you can choose the STOCK_4x6(For Thermal Printer Only) in the Print Label Size and the ZPLII in the Image Type.

Now, as soon as you print the shipping label on the Edit Order page, a ZPL extension file would be downloaded. You can print that file in order to get the shipping label. It would look something like in the following sample image.

We hope this article would have helped you in some way.
