Donald Trump’s Speaking has Taken him This Far

Donald Trump’s run in the Presidential Election has split the country into two sides, those for and those against him being the next president. A man who has had no Government or Military experience running as the next president of our country sounds absurd but his way with words and funding his own campaign has made him the official Republican nominee in the 2016 election. With the enthusiastic speaking that Trump indulges in, he has been called a bigot, racist, and fascist yet he has still been able to win over the hearts of many Americans. In the article, “ The Black Eyes in Donald Trump’s Life” published by the NY Times states that, “He made a mess of his personal life and has been repeatedly accused of racism, of cheating people, of lying, and of stiffing charities”. The man has had a history with racism and lying so think to yourself would you want this man as your next president. He is constantly back peddling and contradicting himself and it seems like he is trying to broaden his spectrum of people to vote for him.

We have all heard the many things that have come out of Donald Trump’s mouth that have blown our minds that involve Mexico, calling them rapist and murders, or even calling the 9/11 incident 7/11. In his defense, there are many things that he has said that has in my opinion has made Americans feel safe again no pun intended. At The 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland that Nj.com covered, he stated that, “It is time to show the whole world that American is back- bigger, and better, and stronger than ever before”. He is willing to take down ISIS and keep terrorism and other countries from hurting us and has no fear when it comes to them. I believe that this man is not afraid to candy coat any situation. He is very popular because he is presented as a, what you see is what you get type of guy.

Trump has made billions of dollars as a businessman, which is coming in handy considering that he is selling himself off as such a great candidate for our country. In his previous line of work, persuasion is the biggest key in getting people to purchase what you are selling or investing into your properties, which Trump has had multiple people do in the past. So why wouldn’t we pay attention to what he is trying to sell us even though the man has lost millions of dollars and burned an awful amount of bridges in his past.

In my American Politics class, Donald Trump was a huge debate and we came to the conclusion that when we as Americans pay attention to the elections, the vote is based more on feeling instead of fact. Donald Trump’s words have captivated many of us into this mindset of either this man is a maniac or I would feel safe with him as the next president. We still have a couple of months to see what this man still has up his hat. Will he ruin his chances of becoming the next president or greaten them?
