What’s stopping you?
Is the plan that you are following really yours?
Do you spend your time reading about people living their life? Instagram celebrities, Facebook stars and not-so-famous bloggers whose posts leave your jaws dropped?
I know I do.
Their perfect lives, their perfect coffee mugs and their perfect days. They seem to be spending their lives so much better than us and I wonder why we are behind?
If you are anything like me or most of the people around you, I know you spend time imagining your life differently. You spend time dreaming about your perfect house, your car, your job and etc.
You want to spend your days doing certain things, your weekends in a certain way, and certainly not on your couch scrolling down the posts.
What I wish to ask you is what is stopping you?
There are people who are quitting their corporate jobs and becoming a nomad, travelling the world and experiencing their first love. There are people who are taking up fitness courses and helping people achieve their fitness goals.
People are realising the importance of their time and their interests and they are making sure they follow through.
We have always been pushed to follow certain rules in life. Study hard, get a job, get married, start a family and so on. It has been engraved and imprinted in our hearts and minds.
The course of our life has already been laid down for us before we even step into the world.
I say let’s break this cycle.
Don’t let the thought of not being good enough stop you. Everyone started somewhere in life. Overcoming your insecurities and shortcomings is easy if you put your mind to it.
To reach the top, you must take the smaller steps first. That’s the only way. Determination and hard work.
Break your fears. If you do what you love, things will fall into place on their own. If you want to travel solo, travel solo. If you want to become a yoga instructor, become a yoga instructor. Take courses, practice, learn and become a master.
It’s easy to say, I know but if I can try slowly, why can’t you?
If you can imagine a life that makes your heart beat faster, makes you sing and dance, makes you move, then please do yourself a favour and run towards it.
Life is short. Your regrets will build up exponentially if you let opportunities pass you.
Do something. Create something. Build something. Build yourself. You will thank yourself at the end of it.
