Age Range for Brushies?

Like many other phone apps, you may find that your child can’t get enough of Brushies. While this may seem like a great thing due to the underlying message of the program, you may express some concern that perhaps your child has grown beyond it. With adorable characters and a vibrant interface, the game is definitely targeting a younger audience. Does this mean that it’s time to transition your kid from Brushies?

Generally speaking, you have nothing to worry about as there is no age cap where individuals stop benefiting from the game. Although some of the messages or helpful hints may be well below your child’s reading level, the benefits of Brushies are far beyond simply feeding information and advice. The Bluetooth attachment revolutionizing the way you learn to brush. The app uses motion sensor technology to train and guide the brusher towards proper brushing technique. Instead of merely giving knowledge, the app teaches applications, working on honing motor skills. When it comes to learning motor skills, there is no age limit. Even if this would be more advantageous for younger brushers, you will likely find that even adults could benefit from Brushies training.

To be fair, even though brushing is a regular part of the adult routine, you can’t help but to admit it is a bit monotonous and tedious. When you think about it, we already let technology help entertain the duller parts of our day (such as when we are in a waiting room or on public transport). It shouldn’t be too surprising that if your child has the opportunity to choose between brushing plainly or for fun they would choose the latter. Additionally, when you think about it, a lot of “child” franchises in recent years have appealed to older audiences. Some have even directly catered to then through subtly lines in movies to adult-sized costumes and t-shirts. There is absolutely nothing wrong if this is the kind of things that your child is into, even if the older year. The only thing that it is important to note is whether or not your older child would still brush their teeth without Brushies.

Don’t worry, there is nothing lame about proper hygiene.

Older children and young adults should not need Brushies to brush their teeth. Often, younger children have no real concept about personal hygiene and can be very stubborn in the morning routines. It is very common that during these developmental stages that they fight things such as brushing their teeth or bathing. If your child is still acting like this in their teenage years you may want to have a talk with them or consult with their medical professionals to see if there is another underlying reason behind their behavior. You want to make sure that as your child approaches adulthood that they are as prepared as the can possibly be, and this means that your teenager should not be so reluctant to practice appropriate measures of personal hygiene.

All in all, as long as your older child understands that they are expected to brush their teeth without the app, the app can really only entertain and benefit them. If they get to harmlessly enjoy even one small part of their day, why not let them? There is nothing wrong with a child, no matter how old, just wanting to have fun.
