The importance of Digital Privacy

• So digital privacy is basically the protection of any type of data a user decides to share or create on the internet, using a mobile device or a computer. Many people don’t understand that the information they are sharing on the internet and these websites, for the most part, are being saved and stored. It’s smart to want these things private because why would you want someone in your business. You want to feel at home in these spaces, where you are able to create and share ideas without the judgement and intrusion of outside sources.
• I feel like for the most people it will be positive. Usually algorithisms show people what they want to see or things they may be interested in. I feel like that’s not really something that can be harmful to the community. All it is doing is showing people what they didn’t know they wanted to see. Now it is keeping them engaged and drawing their attention. That could actually be a downfall, because they may have other things they need to take care of but this can act as a distraction towards those things.
• I honestly didn’t really have a clear understanding on why digital privacy is so important. it is very important on what you put out there and what you decide to share about yourself. people have a certain outlook on you or view on you online juts like they do of you in person based on your actions. So it’s important that you are positive, respectful and don’t share your true personal business for safety reasons.
