Movie Review: Wake Up Sid

In an era where the masses usually prefer movies like DDLJ, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham ; Wake Up Sid truly stands out, for all the right reasons. The movie is entirely shot in Mumbai. The sets of the film don’t seem to be very expensive but rest assured they do justice to every scene.

A very realistic movie that deals about a life of a rich- spoilt brat whose life takes a huge turn when he fails in his final year of college. The series of events that take place, after his failure in college, and the way in which life teaches an immature boy lessons and struggles of everyday life, and how he ultimately transforms into a mature man is the basic plot of this Ayan Mukherji’s film.

To keep the movie light hearted there a lot of fun elements in the movie too. Sid is a people’s person and has a huge gang of friends. Though, he loves all his friends equally, a little twist comes in when a new girl in town Aisha enters his life. Both, Ranbir Kapoor and KonKana Sen Sharma have done justice to their respective characters, Sid and Aisha. The supporting cast of the movie comprises of senior actors like Supriya Pathak and Anupam Kher. All in all this romantic — comedy movie gives a very strong message in the end.

Music of the film is done by the extremely talented trio; Shankar — Ehsaan — Loy, and boy, they have done a commendable job. This is one of those films in which I couldn’t find out a single flaw. This is absolutely A MUST WATCH.
