Thank You, balm!

“It is so wonderful to discuss a fictional world”. It is a nice break from the big bad world. You know all these songs and series and movies are just so therapeutic. Art is a healer. And the list can go on till eternity.
Do I disagree with the above? No! Do I agree with the above? No!
Art in all it’s forms; raw or refined can be helpful, in fact to a certain extent it actually is. But, what do you do when you crave a hug? Where do you go when you are desperate for someone to give you the slightest hint of hope? Who do you look for in situations like these? Books? Movies? Cupcakes? GoT episodes? or you simply want to reach out to the balm to your soul?
Without denying and craving to escape, let us be clear that there is nothing like a human healer! The one who may or may not understand you but has the courage and sometimes also the audacity to accept you with all your flaws and obnoxious-ness. I am not very sure but I am quite certain that acceptance is quite a thing for our breed to be okay enough to fight another day, another battle.
I write this because I have a balm to my soul. I write this also because I want her to know that she is the balm to my soul, the therapy to my mind and the healer of my heart. On the days oh so low, I kind of know where to go. On the times when the days screw me up, I know who to ping and trust me it feels safe to have one.
I want to say blessed but it feels safe first. It is like the air bag in the steering wheel, unacknowledged but the first thing to check while buying a car. It is like the fire extinguisher which you never want to use but you always want it to be there. And yes! like all balms too, you want it to be there in your cupboard while not wanting to use it.
But, when in pain isn’t the balm the first thing you look for? Even before you think about visiting a doctor or not the balm is the first thing that your hands automatically reach out to.
Rest assured, I am no different, in fact i am as guilty. Even before the pain completely seeps in I reach out to my balm. I am a little more coward than the normal, so yes even before it sinks in I reach out to my balm.
My balm stays in a land far far away, our time zones are different but I don’t know how but she never let that come between us. She manages that well, very well! or maybe I don’t give her that liberty to choose to not be there. Anyway, the important thing here is that she is, ALWAYS there.
I am sure our human balms are magical, but how often have you told them? If you haven’t told them, then what are you waiting for?
Go rush to them! Hug them tight, tell them they are the oxygen in the world full of Carbon-monoxide and I think that is all you can ever do to and for them!
Gratitude is heaven experienced this is a shout to and for you for making heaven out of the hell! :)
