Elections 2016: the Scottish earthquake continues

Interesting appraisal — couple of questions, Paul:
1) Is the overall character of Scottish nationalism really that left? Lab has been pressuring the SNP on redistributive tax, but this doesn’t seem to have got much traction.

2) Point 5. Why not through Momentum? It’s a far from satisfactory tool, but it’s there. Starting again would take time, and not necessarily yield a better result. Also, the route you propose would, I think, alienate many of the largely younger supporters, who have come through the broad social movements of the past few years and who are suspicious about traditional party structures. This seems to go against the spirit of what you’ve written elsewhere.
