Day Three
Even though it has only been three days, this is starting to drag out a little bit. Finding positions that I can fit into is becoming difficult. Every job board that I am on along with all the job postings that are shared in multiple spaces are beginning to look exactly the same. I really have no idea at time if I have applied to a certain position more than once and what that might do to my future employment. I am still trucking along thou and trudging thru this difficult spot as I know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
On the plus side, I did make some contacts at the Node.js Meetup last night and we are going to start a group project together that will help keep my skills sharp. I’ve been working on my individual projects for so long that I feel that I am hitting a plateau and need some fresh ideas to come on thru to shake things up a bit. I am nervous a little bit because the last group project that we worked on was hijacked by two of the group members and inevitably was something that I was not proud of. I need to wash that taste from my memory.
I still did find the time to apply for 6 jobs last night, as it was another slow night at work. Biggest one that I spent way to much time on was for the Alexa Developer program. I would enjoy that one way to much. Home automation has only just started and the sky is really the limit in my opinion. I see that device as a jump into the future and it is really cool to see people interacting with all of the items in their homes rather than just occupying the space.
To add to that I also had a great interview with Devpoint Labs here in Salt Lake City for a TA position. I do hope that I get that position as it would be great chance for me to expand my skills. I will keep up with that as I hear back.
I have another meetup today and hopefully these chances keep coming!
