Adding to the Speculative Futures Medium-Publication

I learned from Alex Jones (definitely not that Alex Jones) through DMs on the fresh2design Slack that here on Medium an organization’s editorial face exists as a “Publication” to which articles from individual contributors like myself can be added.

This “story” is a line of sight into my process of familiarizing myself with how Medium as a platform works.

Yesterday (Sunday 4/14) I worked through adding this post to the newly created Speculative Futures “Publication”. In order to add a post to a Publication associated with an organization on Medium, that Publication first needs to exist. If it doesn’t, you can create a new Publication through your organization’s Medium account. In our case, we at the Design Futures Initiative hadn’t yet created our group’s Publication, so I went ahead and did that, and you can now submit to it here 🤘.

You can view the list of the Publications you follow on Medium here:

Working through this process I’ve found these resources helpful:
- How-To-Story from Mateja Klaric
- Add a draft or post to publication from Medium support

In the near Future:
We (Design Futures Initiative) will need to establish our submission guidelines.
