Photo of the week

Dublin

Found This Week is a bit late today, I’m currently visiting the U.S. so technically it is still Friday, just a few hours later than usual!
(Also, expect some NYC photos next week!)

On a flight back to Bristol this week, we flew out over Dublin City, allowing me to snap a few shots of the big shmoke, like the one above of the city centre, Dublin Bay and Howth.

This photo is available to licence on EyeEm.

In this week’s post: Rugby, music, DNS, penetration testing, TensorFlow.js, remote carrier landing, Virgin Hyperloop One, responsive web design, Microsoft AI training, life lessons and cool bird facts!

Each Friday I share some of the best things I encounter, from the internet mostly but also from real life! Hopefully what I find interesting will also be interesting to you :-)

Munster V Toulon

This week Munster beat Toulon by a point to progress to the European Champions Cup. The win was sealed with an amazing Andrew Conway try, where he danced in slow motion around the Toulon players to get in over the try line, pictured above.

You can see some more of my photos from the match here.

Luka Bloom & Los Paradiso

Donal Fean, Lead Singer, Los Paradiso

I had the fortune of seeing Los Paradiso play in Dolan’s in Limerick this week, supported by the great Luka Bloom. You can see some more photos from the gig here.

1.1.1.1

Cloudflare launched a privacy and security centric public DNS service.

Tensorflow.js

Tensorflow is now available in browser using Tensorflow.js. Existing models can be imported, retrained and authored directly.

F/A-18 Remote Carrier Landing

The U.S. Navy used their Aircraft Terminal Approach Remote Interceptor (ATARI!) to land a F/A-18 Hornet remotely on the deck of Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier.

Virgin Hyperloop One Pod

Virgin Hyperloop One unveiled their latest branded passenger pod design to the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. A hyperloop track could enable a 76 minute journey from Riyadh to Jedda in Oman.

Responsive Design Best Practices

This is a great article by Daniel Schwarz on the main topics to consider/address when approaching a responsive web design project.

Life Lessons

Marc Chernoff spent some valuable time with his Grandmother at the end of her life. Here are the 19 truths her learned.

Cool Thing Of The Week: Birds!

H/T to Tim Ferriss for sharing these 25 cool facts about birds in his 5 Bullet Friday newsletter. Did you know that the Bassian Thrush uses farts to lure food out from underground, or that American birds cannot be commercially used in movies or TV? (This explains why cardinals are a rare sight for those not in the U.S.)

See you next week :-)
