Death of a Virgin
M.G. Siegler

I think it’s great that so many people have loved the Virgin experience. And absolutely, as is the case with all acquisitions, the brand that purchases should learn from the positives of the brand it just bought. I just wish not everything has to be a polemic — “I love Virgin so Alaska must stink;” “I love Apple so everybody who uses anything else must be suffering.”

For what it’s worth, I’ve been a frequent flyer with Alaska for several years, and as a Seattleite it’s been fantastic. They’ve been ridiculously helpful and positive through countless circumstances, and they’ve been updating planes so rapidly that I rarely find myself on an older plane without modern conveniences (wi-fi, power, free entertainment).

Alaska made a fan of me over time, and I hope you have a similar experience!
