Why you still can’t travel by Indian Railways?

I recently ‘had’ to travel by Indian Railways and it was a very very painful experience. If you have had this same unfortunate encounter then you know what I am talking about. If you are looking to travel by Indian Railways then please make sure to read the below list and cancel your tickets. It is best you spend a little extra and travel by air.

Painful list of Indian Railway things:

  1. Danger of theft at Railway Station.
  2. Too many auto wallas at the station. They will haunt you till you go mad.
  3. Stray dogs inside and outside the station. You will even find dogs inside waiting rooms.
  4. Absence of cleanliness on the station platform.
  5. Loads of filth and people sleeping on the platform.
  6. Danger of theft inside the train.
  7. Dirty and filthy trains from inside.
  8. Unhygienic food served in the trains.
  9. Danger of things getting stolen from you. If you decide to take a proper sleep, consider the risk that your luggage might be gone.
  10. No real sense of time for reaching the designated station.
  11. Train halts anywhere, anytime without much of a reason.
  12. Huge delays in the arrival and departure times.
  13. Danger of bandits boarding the train and hijacking it. Train stops anywhere remember? Even in jungles — and anyone is free to board in.
  14. No real choice of getting the kind of seat you want. Seats can get randomly assigned to you — you will have to take what is being given.
  15. You can find people sleeping on the floor of the train, inside the toilets at night. They don’t have tickets and so they decide to sleep on floor. If you happen to board the train in the middle of the night, you will most probably see your seat taken up by some random person who doesn’t give a shit if you are the actual holder of the seat or not.
  16. Fellow passengers looking at your luggage and trying to make some small talk to keep themselves busy.
  17. Very slow speed of destination reach. It can take you more than 24 hours to reach your destination. A very common scenario of people travelling by trains.
  18. No security before entering the station. Some stations have scanners installed but no one gives a shit about what is going thru’ the scanner.
  19. Food vendors come inside the train and near your seat — they don’t care about your privacy — they just want you to buy their stuff.
  20. No water in washrooms. This can definitely happen to you if you are looking to travel by train on a regular basis.
  21. You have to fight to sit & sleep on your seat.

Be safe and DO NOT travel by Indian Railways.
