And this claim is supported historically too — from the printing press to manufacturing, machines have always replaced humans for performing menial and stressful jobs.

But what is interesting in this case is that (at least in some cultures) driving is not seen as a ‘replaceable’ job. There is an element of skepticism involved in transferring the control to a computer. And I think this is another reason why some people argue against autonomous vehicles — it just doesn’t feel right.
