Barisal:

Barisal is an important district of Southern Bangladesh and headquarters of Barisal Division. In short, it is bound to Shariatpur, Madaripur and Gopalganj on the north, Gopalganj, Pirojpur, and Jhalakati on the west, Barguna and Patuakhali on the south and Bhola and Lakshmipur in the east. The ancient name of the city Chandradip is situated on the banks of the river Kirtonkhola. Barisal is one of the main sources of food grains and fish production in the country. This is called Venice of Bengal. Barisal is an important river port of the country. Barisal occupies a remarkable place in the social, cultural and political area of Bangladesh. Barisal name is associated with many Bengali achievements.

History of Barisal:

Barisal District is a district in southern Bangladesh and is also the headquarter of Barisal Division. Barisal District traces its origins to Bakerganj district which was established in 1797. It was placed in Barisal Division on 1 January 1993.

How to go Barisal:

By road, you can reach Barisal from Dhaka to 6 to 8 hours. Every bus has left Barisal from Gabtoli Bus Terminal for 6 to 10 pm every day. Most of the buses cross the Paturia Ghat to Barisal and some buses cross the Mawa Ghat to Barisal. Buses coming from Dhaka stops at the Nijulabad bus stand of Barisal.

How to go:

There are lot of AC / non-AC bus services from Dhaka. But the launch will be more comfortable. Everyday, the departure of different companies left for Barisal from 8 am to 9.30 pm from Sadarghat. From the CNG / Mahindra or Nathulabad bus stand, you can go to Banaripara or Bhimruli directly from Barisal Shipyard.

This park is also known as Pirojpur Riverview Echopark.In 2007 Former District Commissioner Mr. Monsur Raja Chowdhury took initiative to set up a park on the bank of the Baleswar river in the village of Namajpur.

He filled the sand in original place. Since then, the work was not done at that time, after that the place is known as DC Park.From the month of August 2014, the overall responsibility of the park is on DC office, Pirojpur. From then onwards, the process of making the park more phasing in progress has been continued due to the guidance and various initiatives of the Honorable Deputy Commissioner of the district Mr. AKM Shamimul Haque Siddiqui.One of the most attractive points of the park on the bank of the river Baleshwar is a watch tower.the seen from this watchtower that the scenic scenes of the surrounding area along the river are beautiful.There is also a coffee house, fountain and a lake in the park. Two wooden bridges on the lake and pedal boats arranged below. There are seasonal flower gardens, sitting benches, round umbrellas, swinging and some tapiaries that are parked throughout the park so that the aesthetics of the park have increased further.

The park is located at Namazpur village, 2.5 kilometers from Pirojpur district headquarters.

Barisal is called the Venice of Bengal . Apart from the natural beauty, there are historical and archaeological heritage sites. With the history and tradition of Barisal, these structures are completely mixed. Today we will present you about the existence of a well-established structure in Venice. This is the historic Oxford Mission Church or Epiphany Church.This church, built in Greek architecture, is about 115 years old. After a long change in history, it continues to be very unmatched by its traditions and religious significance. Ketababi named the Oxford Mission Church is the epiphany temple. This church is the second largest church in the continent of Asia. Being a red brick, it is also known as ‘Red Church’. Another interesting aspect of the church is that Asia’s biggest bells are here. That is, seven times a day before the prayer.One of the country’s most beautiful monuments, this Oxford Mission attracts the architectural style, style and architecture of the church. The huge size and aesthetic of this church is up to 100 feet below. Although its entire one-storey building From outside it would seem to be a few storey buildings. Although the building was built under the leadership of engineer Frederick Douglas, according to Sisera Edith’s sketches and design, Father Stroud finalized the design of the church. The work of this church is completed in two steps. The first phase was completed in 1903 and the second phase was completed in 1907.In the church floor there is a stone-made pond, Baptism bath basin. The main door is south-facing. But there are many doors on three sides. The black dome is on the east side of the building.

The main attraction of this church is its large-size prayer room. The roof of the building standing on 40 arches is made of wood. floor are arranged by lovely marble tiles. There is a big cross on the original altar.

If you go to Kuakata then you have to go to this char.Fatrar Char, a charity awakening in the Bay of Bengal under Kalapara thana of Patuakhali district, is called ‘Fatrar Char’. This part of the Sundarbans is a part of the Char. The extended part of the Sundarbans is located on the west side of the Kuakata.This is also a mangrove forest. Twice a day it is flooded with tidal voyages. Ferrara forest was declared in 1960 by the forest reserve.In 1967 it was named after Tenggiri forest.The forest area of 13,000 644 acres of land along the Kuakata beach. It is the second largest forest in the country after the Sundarbans.The beauty of the sea and the calmness of the forest, to call the beautiful shelters of the nature lovers.It is a small beach, at the time of the dawn you can get down to this beach. If you go here, you will have to cross the bamboo shovels.

How to Go Fatrar Char:

From Sayedabad and Gabtoli bus stand in Dhaka, the bus leaves for Patuakhali. Buses running on Patuakhali route include Saudia Transport, Abdullah Transport, Hanif Transport, Eagle Transport etc. Rent will cost 450 to 700 Taka.

You have to hire the engine boat from the Kuakata beach to reach Fatrar Char. It takes about one hour to walk on foot from the Kuakata beach to Fatrar char. On the other hand, it will take you ten minutes to walk on the motorcycle of the guide to reach the Fatrar char from Kuakata beach.
