Comilla, officially known as Cumilla, is a city in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh, located along the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. It is the administrative center of the Comilla District, part of the Chittagong Division. Comilla District is a district of Bangladesh located about 100 kilometers southeast of Dhaka.
Things to do in Comilla:
Shalban Bihar is the most attractive tourist spot in Comilla Bangladesh. This archaeological site is one of the most popular destinations in Bangladesh. It is a ground plan of a Buddhist hermitage (measuring 550′ x 500′) with 115 monastic cells. After then it is now famously known as Shalban Vihara. A primary central shrine and its memorial gateway on the north is its best special attraction. From the terracotta sealing, we came to know that this shrine was built by Sri Bhava Deva, the 4th ruler of the early Deva blood during mid 8th century A.D.; So during its heyday, it was called Bhava Deva Maha Vihara. The archeology recovered during the mining are now displayed at the Moynamoti Museum.
First, you have to come to Comilla. You can reach at Comilla by bus or train. It’s around 2 hours or 3 hours bus or train journey. In my opinion, Royal Coach and Tisha are the two affordable transport facilities that you can use. It will cost you 250 TK to 500 Tk per person. The bus is stopped in Comilla town, but it will be better for you to get down at Comilla Cantonment. Cause Mainamati Shalbon Bihar nearer from Comilla Cantonment. Take a CNG/auto-rickshaw to reach near the Moynamoti from there. To enter Shalban Bihar you need to buy a ticket. It will cost you 10 Taka per person. You can enjoy your time from the time at 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Shalban Bihar picnic spot and a lot of students from different schools use to gather here as a purpose of a study tour.
Beside the Shalban Bihar, you will find a museum flourishing with collection from the mining of the Archeological sites. You are not allowed to use any Camera inside. You have to buy a ticket to enter the Museum. Each person will cost 20 Taka.
The historical ‘War Cemetery’ is a brilliant history of the canopy of Moynamoti Cantonment, about seven kilometers away from Comilla town. The mausoleum of 737 soldiers killed in World War. It is known locally as the English cemetery in Comilla. If you want to get close to nature from city life, then you can come to ‘War Cemetery’ of the Mainamati Cantonment. War Cemetery on the north side of the Mainamati Cantonment, on the Comilla-Sylhet highway. Beside the main road, there is a wonderful place, arranged with 15 acres of high-low teal. It’s pretty nice, but it’s a grief-stricken history.
From 1939 to 1945, the of World War II history of this place. Sleeping here 737 armies in World War II. This is where the last address of thousands of miles away from their home. All of 737 people are sacrificing their lives for the country. Of these, 24 Japanese graves include Britain’s 357, Canada’s 12, Australia’s 12, Indian subcontinent 178, East African 56, West Africa 86, New Zealand 4, South Africa one, 3 in Rhodesia, one in Poland, one in Belgium and one in Belgium. The bronze plate with the history written in Bengali and English on the wall of the gate will be seen after entering the main gate. Each grave is surrounded by several varieties of flowers of various colors. The flowers are bloomed in trees, for every soldier of the tomb. Each Tombstone contains the name of the soldier, the last name, the regiment, the age, date of death and the religious symbol.

The tomb is beautifully decorated. It is open for everyone from 7 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 5 pm. Before entering the main entrance, all the instructions will be seen in front of everyone. For example, do not sit down, do not ask to open when the gate is closed, those who are lying will have to respect, do not mess, do not enter with a camera.

Comilla is famous for the Rasmalai, and the Matri Bhandar is the original and oldest producer of the best quality of Rash Malai. There is only one showroom of the Matri Bhandar in Comilla. Matri Bhandar located of the outlet is at Manoharpur beside the Kandirpar road. It will take 10 to 15 Taka auto rickshaw fare to reach near the shop from Shashongachha. Just ask any rickshaw or auto driver for the original Matri Bhandar. It’s tasty and yummy. If you have a chance then take the original taste of the famous Rasmalai of Comilla.

Most of the tourist spots are somewhere around the other side of Shalbon Bihar of Comilla. But this Chondi mura temple is quite isolated from those places. This is at the southern end of the Lalmai Hill. That’s why mostly devoted people use to go there only. Very few tourists like us use to go there.
Chondi mura temple is placed at the top of a hillock and you have to climb there using the stairs. It’s tedious to reach the top. But don’t worry, you will have the whole stairs is covered with evergreen trees. And at any stages, you can have a break by supporting your body on the railing of the stairs. You can see a long distance from there as you have already climbed a few.
How to Go:
There is a bus (named Bolaka) uses to run through a road which is exactly beside the temple. You can take that bus from the Paduar Bazar of Comilla Bishwa road. It’s cost 15 Taka per person and around 15 minutes of the bus ride.
