Missing Out

“I don’t remember it, but people tell me.

My dad died.

I was like…how old was I, three? And I don’t remember most of it, but I’ve seen pictures of the funeral and stuff. And I have a bunch of pictures of him in my wallet. I have a stepdad now, so I have like, two dads, but that wasn’t really fun for me. Especially now, because I have more pictures of my dad and I feel like I’ve seen him more, and I have had people tell me about him too.

And it’s like, I didn’t really get to know my real dad. It’s not fair, but I guess sometimes life throws you a curve ball, and you can’t really catch it.

So I’m fine with it now, but that was kinda like the worst thing that’s ever happened to me.”
