Always dreamt of working with one of these celebrated brands of all time but never got a chance? Go ahead, this article is for you. Students, Undergraduates, Alumnus and all the Ingenious people out there in the industry, this article may excite you as well.

After hearing from a lot of people and solving their doubts regarding virtual experience, I finally decided to write this article and make the community cognizant. Make sure to read it till the end and make the most out of it!

What is a ‘Virtual Experience Program’?

A virtual experience program is a series of modules containing a handful of tasks from contrasting divisions of the company you choose.

Note: This program is NOT an internship. (Meaning, you’re not paid for the tasks that you complete and you don’t have a fixed period to complete the assigned tasks)

How do these programs work?

It is a program where you get an insight into how the employees work in these exalted companies. You can also define it as ‘A mirroring of the work done at these renowned companies’. You get the opportunity to seek what life is like, at these top-class businesses. During the program, you will also familiarize yourself with the company’s frameworks, tools and how they work to satisfy their clients.

How do you enroll in one of these programs?

As of today, InsideSherpa is the only website that provides these propitious opportunities for folks of any age group. Also, you can visit the official websites of the companies mentioned below and they’ll link you back to InsideSherpa.

Currently, partners of the program include, JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Deloitte, Accenture, Boston Consulting Group(BCG), Sydney School of Entrepreneurship(SSE), White&Case, KPMG, ANZ, Commonwealth Bank and many more to be added!

Why the virtual experience program?

  • The programs are absolutely FREE for all the ‘eat, sleep and breathe’ ones.
  • NO pre-requisites needed.
  • Get pragmatic skills from actual employees.
  • Access to curated resources and tools required to complete the task.
  • It can be completed in 24–48 hours.
  • Self-paced, NO DEADLINES!
  • Make your resume stand out.
  • Certificate of achievement.

My experience with InsideSherpa:

I found out about them via a random post on Linkedin, which was liked by a fellow connection. I immediately took the next step, visited the website and registered myself. After exploring the website for a few minutes, I was surprised that you can actually do these programs at no cost and learn neoteric skills. After deciding to enroll for the JPMorgan Chase Software Engineering Virtual Experience Program, I was asked to complete an introductory task which consisted:

  1. Video instructions from an actual employee of the company regarding the background information of the task.

2. PDF on how to set up the required dev-environment on your Laptop/Mac.

3. A step-by-step guide on how to complete the task (Included many sources of useful information)

4. Resources which are considered helpful to complete the task (Only 4 are mentioned in the screenshot, there are many others)

5. Finally, a place to submit your work.

What did I learn?

And at the end of the day, what matters is the knowledge you gained, the skills you racked up and the experience that you attained. I will quickly share the things I learned and the skills that were edified after completing this course:

  • Data Visualization, using JPMorgan’s Perspective data visualization open-source software.
  • Playing around with Python and React.
  • Stock Price Monitoring.
  • Web Applications.
  • Financial Analysis.
  • Technical Communication.

For reference, I am attaching my course completion certificate below:

Conclusion:

To wrap it all up, take the next step today and start your first virtual experience program by heading over to InsideSherpa, and make the most out of it! Share this article with someone, you think might help. Claps and Feedbacks appreciated. Thanks for reading:)
